It is known to bring Yirah-
Translated as fear.
But that's not the feeling AT ALL.
How do I know?
My Hebrew birthday this year was on Saturday night and Sunday
(The Hebrew day starting at night)
So on Shabbat, I decided to wake up very early, before dawn,
So I could pray at dawn- Naytz, in a very special Shul- synagogue I like to go to.
I decided to dress in all white.
It symbolizes holiness.
It symbolizes cleanliness,
It symbolizes purity and Gdliness.
I wanted to bring those feelings into my life and decided to connect with them.
I tapped in.
On the way to Shul, my sister and I were walking down the street, and all of a sudden we see this man, he looked like a Rabbi,
Covered in a Talit, a prayer shawl.
Scurrying around the corner.
At that moment I felt complete and utter Yirah..
I never really knew what it meant or let alone how it felt before.
But it was this feeling of being completely taken aback.
A feeling of speechlessness.
We stood still for a moment, just witnessing.
You can’t really explain it.
It’s not fear.
It’s not a feeling of being scared.
It’s AWE.
The emoji in blue and has no eyes or mouth.
Just shocked.
In amazement.
In holy awe.
It was the best feeling ever.
I have recently been trying to understand what Yirah is.
And for my birthday, Gd gave me the ability.
I can say with all heart and soul,
That was one of the best birthday presents I ever gotten, in my whole life.
And just thinking,
That was just a person.
I’m not sure who it was,
Maybe a holy Tzadik- Righteous man,
But the way Gd was able to send a Shaliach- Messenger,
For me to understand what that feeling of Yirah is,
I am FOREVER GRATEFUL.
Whenever I remember this,
It makes me so much more in AWE of Gd.
~
Does awe come from a place of Love?
Does it come from a place of respect?
Does it come from a place of openness?
Yes.
Yes, Awe comes from a place of Love,
But love also comes from a place of Awe.
And in order to really have a good personal connection WITH Gd,
We need both.
We need that LOVE,
We need that LOVE from AWE
And we need that AWE,
We need that AWE from LOVE.
